Information
"...and night" is Szysztof’s first and, to date, only music video (the rest of the videos cannot be called "music videos" - they are simply performances of songs or poems).
The guitar part of the song was composed in the summer of 2011, and the melody, most likely, in March 2012, when the lyrics* were compiled. But only in 2016 Szysztof decided to bring the song to publication not only as an audio, but as a video as well.
Filming took place from February to August, mainly** in Kyiv on the right bank of the Dnieper river. The most active month of filming was August, when Szysztof was joined by his sister. It was she who filmed the scenes where Szysztof was in the frame, as well as the backstage.
No plot or script was intended. Szysztof simply filmed everything that caught his eye and somehow fell into the mood of the song, in the hope that later he will be able to mold the scattered fragments into more or less coherent video sequence.
Despite the extreme abstractness of the task, the rough cut was ready by the end of August. The song itself was recorded at the same time***. Until the end of November, Szysztof was mainly engaged in editing the audio recording. On November 28****, it was published on the social network VK along with the most striking screenshots of the future video. It took another month to make the final cut of the video.
On January 1, 2017, the backstage was released on the social network VK. Szysztof decided not to upload it to YouTube, so as not to spoil the impression, because despite the gloomy mood of the video, its filming took place in an atmosphere of silly fun.
** Outside of Kyiv, only the following were filmed: a spider quickly running along a wall (urban-type settlement Kozyn in Obukhiv Raion of Kyiv Oblast) and a spider hanging on a web (the village of Zaliznyi Port in Skadovsk Raion of Kherson Oblast). ^
*** Filming of singing and playing the guitar was accompanied by the drum part that was already ready by that time; a rough recording of the song on a synthetic piano was used to make the rough cut. ^
**** Birthday of Alexander Blok, new style. ^
